CORPORATE DOCUMENT MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

This statement has been published pursuant to the requirements under section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It provides information regarding the business practices of Micromeritics Instrument Corporation, and its subsidiary companies (together, “Micromeritics”), and the steps Micromeritics has taken to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in its business and supply chains. Micromeritics has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery or human trafficking (MS&HT). It is committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and it is committed to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of MS&HT in any part of its business or operations. Micromeritics considers that the risk of MS&HT taking place within its business or supply chain is relatively low and to date we have not uncovered any evidence of MS&HT within our business operations.

 

OUR BUSINESS STRUCTURE AND SUMMARY OF OUR OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY CHAINS

Our business has operations in more than 15 locations throughout the world and employees in over 8 different countries. We recruit, develop and promote our people based on their talent, commitment and achievement; everyone is treated equally and fairly whatever their race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or background. Micromeritics is a very specialized and technical business, and we rely on the skills and expertise of our people, many of whom are highly qualified engineers and scientists. Micromeritics‘ business products portfolio focuses on measurements in 5 areas, namely: (1) SURFACE AREA; (2) POROSITY; (3) SOLID DENSITY; (4) INTERACTIONS; and (5) POWDER FLOW.  The business operates manufacturing facilities in Georgia, USA; Madrid, Spain and Tewkesbury, United Kingdom.

 

Manufacturing headquarters in Norcross, Georgia USA builds and supplies instruments to, or on behalf of, our subsidiary businesses worldwide.  Our supply chain includes:

  • Purchased parts and raw materials for instrument manufacturing.
  • Capital equipment for manufacturing.
  • Equipment used for primary business operations including but not limited to desktop/notebook computers, office supplies, laboratory consumables, facility maintenance supplies.

 

Micromeritics has in place vendors due diligence procesess and risk assessments to identify risks of MS&HT occuring within our supply chain.

 

FUTURE STEPS/ ANY OTHER ACTIONS

As part of our committment to improving our procedures and to identify and prevent MS&HT Micromeritics will take the following actions over the next fiscal year:

  • Full review of the Code of Business Ethics.
  • Update on Micromeritics‘ MS&HT procedures and policies.
  • Roll out continual Ethics and Code of Conduct training globally.
